I began Semaglutide injections (brand name “Ozempic”) when I committed to getting serious about my weight loss.
Since I work in medical aesthetics, I’ve always had access to (and have used) the best treatments for my face: Botox, filler, laser treatments, facials, etc. But when it came to weight, I was caught in the typical cycles: fad diets, weight fluctuations, exercise plateaus.
I tried Coolsculpting and body contouring, but they never gave me "wow" results. When I heard Semaglutide was being used for weight management, I was thrilled.
Like with any other medical treatment, I try it on myself before I administer it to a patient. So, 9 months ago I started Semaglutide injections.
I knew that there would be minor side effects, but I can confidently say it is 100% worth it. The pain of being overweight and looking in the mirror and not being happy about what I saw was way worse than the pain of having to change my eating habits.
This is why I say it’s only for those serious about weight loss.
The way the medication works is that it makes you feel full quicker and for longer, which forces you to eat less.
There’s definitely an adjustment period, but you get used to it and I actually now enjoy having more control over how much I eat and not feeling like food is always on my mind.
